- Rio Takeda Finishes Tied for Third at the SONY JLPGA CHAMPIONSHIP
Rio Takeda competed in the SONY JLPGA CHAMPIONSHIP, a major tournament on the JLPGA Tour, held from September 10 to 13 at the Hakusan Course of Katayamazu Golf Club in Ishikawa Prefecture.
On the third day, she recorded seven consecutive birdies, tying the JLPGA major tournament record, and finished tied for 3rd place with a total score of 8 under par.
She will now return to the US to compete in the LPGA Tour’s Walmart NW Arkansas Championship.

Rio Takeda competed in the AIG Women's Open—the final major tournament of this season—held at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club in England from July 30 to August 2.
She finished the final round with a 69 and ended the tournament at 1 under par overall, tying for 6th place.
Following her tied for 4th place last year, she has now achieved back-to-back top-10 finishes in this major.
