SYNAPSE Creative Space, a cloud-based AI development support platform, enables users to execute a series of processes for developing image diagnosis AI without requiring any programming expertise. Currently available in its beta version, the service is scheduled to be officially launched in FY2023. There are three major hurdles for doctors in the medical field when developing image diagnosis AI.

SYNAPSE Creative Space is an all-in-one AI development platform equipped with all the necessary tools to develop AI, including project management, annotation, machine learning, and AI execution. This service eliminates the aforementioned hurdles, supports physician-led AI development, and promotes the democratization of medical AI development.

1. Project management
The project management dashboard visualizes the progress of annotation and machine learning of multiple projects.
2. Image annotation and labeling
The annotation tool helps users to work on annotation and labeling easily and efficiently, with its UI similar to the one used in the clinical environments.
3. Machine learning platform
Machine learning platform streamlines AI model development process by providing multiple types of machine learning engines as a tool and by consolidating essential information.
4. AI model execution
AI model execution can be done flexibly on the same UI as the annotation tool.

Additionally, we aim to accelerate the social implementation of AI by delivering the AI researched and developed on the SYNAPSE Creative Space to clinical sites through the Fujifilm Group’s platform. For medical institutions and research organizations, this will clarify the path from research to social implementation and enable revenue generation. We aim to build an ecosystem, from development to social implementation, that creates a win-win situation for both industry and academia.
