This project is based on our specific mission because Fujifilm is originated from photography business.
The Great East Japan Earthquake hit off the Sanriku Coast facing the Pacific Ocean on March 11, 2011. In order to rescue photographic prints covered with mud because of the large tsunami that caused massive damage, particularly on the Tohoku Coast. Since April of the year, we conducted various activities in the disaster areas including provision of photo products (mini albums etc.) and our know-how for cleaning photo prints.
Because of extreme weather in recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of cases damaged from typhoons and torrential rains in Japan. And photo rescue activities are repeatedly conducted in each area.
There, not only the know-how that Fujifilm provided is added with the new knowledge obtained from frontline work, the spirits and partnerships of the NPOs that worked at the Great East Japan Earthquake is continued to be passed down.
